"12-Year-Old Drowns in Pond Near Siliguri; Search and Rescue Efforts Fail"

A tragic incident occurred in the Farabari Nepali Basti, near Siliguri, where a 12-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a pond with friends. The victim, identified as Tushar Barman, was a resident of Ashighar.

Reports indicate that Tushar, along with a few friends, went to the pond for a swim when the boys began drowning in the deep water. Alarmed, the locals noticed the situation and were able to rescue the other boys. However, Tushar could not be saved despite several efforts.

Later, the Ambari Outpost police and disaster response forces were informed and the body of the minor was recovered after an extensive search operation. The incident cast an atmosphere of mourning on the area. The entire incident is under police investigation.
