"Suspected Killer in Pushpa Chhetri Case Brought to Court Under Tight Security"
Abhishek Dorji, the suspected hired killer in the murder case of Pushpa Chhetri, was presented in a Jalpaiguri court on Monday under heavy security after being arrested in Chennai. He was brought to Siliguri on Sunday and formally appeared in court the next day.
During the court session, angry relatives of the victim tried to attack Dorji, showing their anger over the murder. The police quickly stepped in and took Dorji away safely, escorting him to a police van.
Pushpa Chhetri, who lived in Lower Bhanu Nagar, Siliguri, was killed in what authorities believe was a planned contract killing. Investigations revealed that Arun Paudel, a semi-paramilitary force member in Punjab, and his wife Pratika Paudel arranged the murder. They allegedly paid ₹1 lakh to hire a killer to end Pushpa’s life due to an extramarital affair.
After the murder, police arrested Pratika Paudel and Rustam Bhiskarma, the first hired assassin. Abhishek Dorji, the second contract killer, was also arrested. The investigation is still ongoing, and further legal actions are expected.
