*Viksit Bharat Viksit West Bengal" programme in Siliguri*
Today, I had the honour of joining Hon'ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi ji, and the Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal Shri C.V. Anandabose ji for the "Viksit Bharat Viksit West Bengal"programme in Siliguri, where PM Modi ji inaugurated road projects, flagged off new train connecting Siliguri to Radhikapur, and inaugurated multiple railway line electrification projects, worth more than Rs 4500 crores.
Speaking at the ceremony, PM Modi ji stated, "This region of North Bengal serves as the gateway to our Northeast, and it also connects with trade routes to neighboring countries. Hence, over the past ten years, the development of Bengal, especially North Bengal, has been a priority for our government."
Underlining PM Modi ji keeping the development of our region on top priority, I highlighted how the Central Government is undertaking nearly Rs 50000 crores worth of infrastructural projects in Darjeeling Lok Sbaha constituency alone.
I took the opportunity to highlight the key infrastructural projects, such as, Bagdogra Airport at a cost of Rs 3000 crore, Sevoke-Rangpo Railline Rs 12000 crore, 3 Vande Bharat Trains - Siliguri-Howrah, Siliguri-Guwahati, Siliguri-Patna, Balason-Sevoke Elevated Highway Rs 1000 crore, NH717A connecting Kalimpong Rs 2400 crore, Alternative to Coronation Bridge Rs 1100 crore, NH10 redevelopment Rs 800 crore, Siliguri to Gorakhpur Expressway (520 Km.) – 32000 Cr, Har Ghar Jal Rs 2450 crore, AMRUT 2.0 Rs 1200 crore, Healthcare Rs 222 crore, PMGSY Rs 4053 crore, PMAY Urban 25000 homes, PMAY Rural 85000 homes, and New Labour Codes to ensure the welfare of the Tea Garden and Cinchona Garden workers.
I thanked PM Modi ji, for placing our region at the forefront of developmental initiatives.
