"Man Arrested for Battery Theft Linked to E-Rickshaw Thefts in Siliguri; Two Others Apprehended"

In Siliguri, the police had earlier arrested a man named Dip Chettri for stealing a battery. After being taken to court, Dip was sent to jail. While he was in jail, several e-rickshaws were stolen in different parts of Siliguri, including the Khalpara area. During their investigation, the police found out that Dip was involved in these thefts too.

The police from Khalpara asked the court to allow them to take Dip out of jail to question him about the e-rickshaw thefts. The court agreed, and Dip was taken into police custody for four days. During questioning, the police learned that Dip was the main person behind the thefts. They also found out that he was selling the stolen e-rickshaws to two men named Mohammad Zaherul Alam and Joy Sarkar.

The police later arrested Joy Sarkar from Bidhan Nagar and Mohammad Zaherul Alam from Bihar. They found two stolen e-rickshaws with them. On Monday, both men were taken to court in Siliguri, where the police asked for more time to question them. The police believe that further questioning might help them find more stolen e-rickshaws in Siliguri.
