In Ward 97 of Kolkata, the municipal corporation is taking steps to fight dengue as the monsoon season starts. They are spraying mosquito repellent and checking homes for stagnant water where mosquitoes can breed. On Saturday, they treated areas like Shantinagar and Manik Bandyopadhyay’s Smarani. Health workers are also looking for people with fevers and educating residents about dengue. Local social worker Debashis Bandyopadhyay is helping with these efforts.
