BSF BUSTS GOLD SMUGGLING RACKET

On 24th November’ 2025 at about 1210 hrs, on specific information, alert troops of 184 Battalion BSF under Kishanganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier apprehended an Indian National namely Ratan Bishra, (23 Yrs), S/o Some Bisra, Vill-Indira Colony, PO-Bamanbari, PS-Goalpokher, Dist- Uttar Dinajpur (West Bengal) at IBBF gate while he was returning from his fields situated ahead of fence, carrying bundle of dry branches of trees. On checking by the BSF troops, gold was found concealed inside bundle and two mobile phones were also recovered from the spot. The total estimated value of the seized items is approx ₹ 2.4 Crore. 

On information of the apprehended person the BSF team further apprehended the rear link, namely Dhanaji Nam dev Bhuje (34 Yrs), S/o Namdev Maharuti Bhuje, R/o Vill-Malewadi, PO-Kargani, PS-Atpari, Distt-Sangli, State- Maharastra from Caltex Chowk, Kishanganj. Further, both the apprehended person were handed over to DRI Behrampore, Dist- Murshidabad for further investigations. 

This action has once again proven the vigilance, professionalism, and anti-smuggling capabilities of the BSF. The BSF will continue to take such decisive action with zero tolerance against smuggling and illegal activities along the India-Bangladesh border.
