FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons awarded to Dr Neela Bhattacharya
Dr Neela Bhattacharya has been awarded Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS) and she becomes the first female surgeon in the entire North Bengal to be bestowed with this prestigious international fellowship.
Dr Neela Bhattacharya is working as the Project Director of the Smile Train at Anandaloke Hospital Siliguri and had performed more than 5000 cleft lip and palate surgery free of cost to the poor children of North Bengal, Bihar, Assam Nepal , Bhutan and Bangladesh patients under Smile Train.
Dr Neela Bhattacharya has been awarded 50 Woman Transforming India by the Prime Minister Office, United Nations and Niti Aayog and was felicitated by the then President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee and the Ministry of Child and Family Welfare earlier. She is also associated with the Sishu Sathi scheme of Government of West Bengal and RBSK scheme to provide free treatment to the cleft lip and palate patients of North Bengal.
Dr Neela Bhattacharya expressed her joy on being the first FRCS female surgeon of North Bengal and promised to serve the poor children to bring more smile on their face .
