IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad Crush RCB by 42 Runs, Dent Top-Two Hopes
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a crushing 42-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 65 of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, severely denting RCB's chances of finishing in the top two.
Batting first, SRH piled up an imposing 231 for 6 in 20 overs, led by a sensational unbeaten 94 off 48 balls from Ishan Kishan. His innings was laced with seven fours and five sixes. Aniket Verma added late fireworks with a rapid 26 off just nine deliveries. For RCB, Romario Shepherd was the most effective bowler, finishing with 2 for 14.
In reply, RCB got off to a flying start. Virat Kohli struck 43 off 25 balls, while Phil Salt blazed his way to 62 off 32. However, once Salt was dismissed, the batting order collapsed under pressure. Despite brief resistance from Jitesh Sharma, RCB were bowled out for 189 in 19.5 overs.
Eshan Malinga and skipper Pat Cummins starred with the ball for Hyderabad, triggering the middle-order collapse and sealing a dominant win.
