Mumbai, April 17– Mumbai Indians clinched a thrilling four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night, with Tilak Varma striking the winning boundary in a dramatic finish.
Chasing 163, MI appeared in complete control until a bizarre collapse in the 18th over saw Hardik Pandya and Naman Dhir dismissed with the scores level. Eshan Malinga, bowling a high-pressure over, nearly turned the game on its head before Varma finally ended the suspense on the first ball of the 19th.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 162/5, thanks to late fireworks from Heinrich Klaasen. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers, delivering a miserly spell and removing Klaasen at a crucial moment.
