Kalimpong Police into Semifinals of 18th Sukna Gold Cup

Kalimpong Police secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Kanchanjunga Football Club (KFC) to book their spot in the semifinals of the 18th Sukna Gold Cup football tournament. The match, held on Sunday at the Sukna High School ground, was the second quarterfinal of the prestigious competition.  

Anivesh Gurung opened the scoring for Kalimpong Police in the 32nd minute, followed by Ashish Rai in the 45th minute and Sujal Dangal in the 55th minute. Sujal Dangal’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award.  

The tournament, organized by the Sukna Games and Sports Association with support from the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration’s (GTA) Youth Affairs and Sports Department, features 20 teams this year.  

The third quarterfinal will take place tomorrow on Monday, where Rolling Club from Dhulabari, Nepal, will face Georgian Football Club Kalimpong
