Kangaroo dies at safari park

One of the two  Kangroos rescued under the Jalapiguri district by Belakoba forest range
of Baikanthapur forest division died  at Bengal Safari : North Bengal wild animal park on the outskirts of Siliguri on Tuesday morning.  However , the cause of death is yet to be ascertained said the park authorities. 

The deceased Animal Alexa was one of the three kangaroos recused in Jalpaiguri early this year. The three animals were named Lucas, Alexa and Xavier, among which lucas died on April 8 and Alexa died today. Only Xavier is left at the park, said the park authorities. 

According to the sources, Alexa had eaten mushroom and was also feed fast food . However, park authorities kept mum and said they could ascertain only after the post mortem reports arrive. 

Director of the park Dawa Sangmo Sherpa said three  kangroo were  rescued in Jalpaiguri and we have lost two of them.  

" We are saddened by the loss of one more Kangroo at the park. We are left with Xavier at the park and he is keeping well.  We lost Alexa at 4 am in the morning. However , we are yet to ascertain the cause of death only after the post-mortem reports arrive we will be able to comment", said Sherpa.
