Siliguri: A significant breakthrough was made in a theft case from July when police arrested a man involved in stealing 90 grams of gold and ₹20,000 in cash from a house in the Chaitanyapur Shiv Mandir area. The accused, Zabdul Hussain, a resident of Jaigaon, was initially apprehended by Matigara police on October 24 for another theft case.
During a 5-day remand following his presentation at the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court, police discovered that he had hidden part of the stolen gold at his in-laws' house in Biswas Colony, Matigara. Authorities recovered 27 grams of gold from the location.
Zabdul Hussain was presented in court today, and police are now conducting further investigations to identify any additional individuals involved in the crime.
