National Sports Day: Mayoor School Celebrates with Sports Fest
Siliguri: Today, August 29, is National Sports Day in India. Mayoor School in Siliguri celebrated the day with a big sports event. Thanks to better facilities, the athletes at the school are improving quickly. National boxer Ishan Das was the chief guest. Students from several schools, including Bright Academy, First Intellects Preschool, G.D. Goenka, Nebula Kids Academy, and Kidzee, attended the event.
Mayoor School students also took part in the festivities, which included a football match. Ishan Das showed some amazing boxing skills and said that sports like boxing can help with self-defense and lead to great achievements in life. He stressed the importance of respecting sports and athletes.
Mayoor School's Director, Vimal Dalmia, reminded everyone that today is the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, known as the hockey wizard, and that’s why we celebrate National Sports Day. The day is meant to honor Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to sports and to encourage people to take part in sports actively. Athletes across the country are honored, and young people are inspired to pursue careers in sports.
