Newborn's Body Goes Missing from Siliguri District Hospital, Family Outraged
A disturbing incident has come to light at Siliguri District Hospital, where the body of a newborn baby has reportedly gone missing, causing concern and anger among the public.
According to sources, Riya Gupta, a resident of Goalapatti in Siliguri’s Ward No. 04, was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. Doctors informed her family that the baby had died in the womb. Later that night, Riya delivered a stillborn son. The hospital staff told the family they could collect the baby’s body after four hours. However, the family decided to wait until Thursday morning to take the body home.
When they arrived at the hospital the next morning, they were kept waiting for a long time. By afternoon, the shocking news came that the body was missing. This led to chaos inside the hospital, with the family raising concerns about the hospital’s safety and security.
Amit Dutta, who is temporarily in charge of the hospital, said an investigation is underway to find out how the incident happened. He promised action against those responsible.
The Siliguri police were informed, and they arrived at the hospital to carry out further investigations.
