Police Officer Injured in Clash While Shutting Down Illegal Liquor Shop in Siliguri

A police officer was attacked while trying to shut down an illegal liquor shop in Dangujo, near the Bengal-Bihar border in Khariabari, Siliguri. The police from Khariabari station were conducting an operation against illegal liquor when they clashed with drunk people.

In the fight, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the police station was injured and is being treated at a local hospital. One person, Sunil Mahato, has been arrested, but 15 to 20 others involved in the incident are still missing.

The arrested person was brought to court today. Police will question him to find out who else was involved in the attack.
