Mumbai Indians continued their winning run with a big nine-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025 on Sunday. The star of the match was Rohit Sharma, who scored an unbeaten 76 runs off just 45 balls.

Rohit, who had a poor start this season with only 82 runs in his first six games, returned to form in front of the home crowd at Wankhede Stadium. He hit 4 fours and 6 sixes in his powerful innings.

Chennai Super Kings batted first and scored 176/5 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube made 50 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja stayed unbeaten on 53. But it wasn’t enough as MI chased down the target with ease.

MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton gave the team a fast start. Rickelton scored 24 before getting out, but then Suryakumar Yadav joined Rohit and the two put on an unbeaten 114-run partnership.

Surya smashed 68 not out off 37 balls, hitting boundaries all over the ground. He also handled CSK’s spinners well, especially Noor Ahmad, who had earlier troubled MI in Chennai.

Mumbai reached the target in just 15.4 overs, which gave a big boost to their Net Run Rate. This was MI’s third straight win and fourth overall this season.

With Rohit back in form and Surya looking solid, Mumbai Indians now look like strong contenders for the playoffs.
