Sukna Gold Cup fixtures released

Sukna, December 25th ,2023 : The official fixture list of the 17th Sukna Gold Cup Football Tournament was  released under the supervision of Sukna Games and Sports Association  and with the support of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, GTA (Gorkhaland Territorial Administration)  on Monday. The sports list was released at a press conference held today at the institution's private building in sukna. On this occasion, Member Nabaraj Chhetri (MOD, Youth Affairs and Sports Department GTA) and Member Paresh Tirki (MOD, BCW and Tribal Development Department GTA) had a special presence. After Nehal Giri, General Secretary of the organization highlighted the glorious history of the tournament and the main attractions of the 17th edition, Sanjay Chhetri, President of the organization informed about the teams participating in the tournament. On this occasion, the general secretary of the organization, Nehal Giri, informed that along with the main tournament, the age group football tournament will also be organized. Then the official match list of the tournament was announced. The tournament will start from January 7 and the final will be played on January 28.A total of 20 prestigious teams will participate, including local team ,Teams from Sikkim, Nepal, Calcutta, North-East India, Bhutan and Army are also included. In the opening match, United Brothers Kalimpong and ATS Kolkata will meet. Other teams participating in the tournament are Kanchenjunga FC, United Kurseong FC, NMSC Shillong, Academy Knights (Gantok), Darjeeling Police, Patnali Dharan-17 (Nepal), United FC Darjeeling, Phuentsholing Heroes FC (Bhutan), Siliguri United, DSA Dooars, Kalimpong Police, Eleven Star , N.B.A.P, Sikkim Police, Amukta Parivar, Sukna united, 3/9 GR and Rolling Club Ghulabari (Nepal) are included. Thus, the two semi-finals of the tournament will be played on 25 and 26 January. In the press conference, along with the general secretary and president of the organization, vice presidents Niren Lama and Paresh Mangar, joint secretaries Saurabh Chhetri and Kiran Rai, former presidents Shatrudhan Pokhrel and Rajesh Lama, advisers D.B .Thapa, Nitin Chhetri and treasurer Pramit Chhetri were present.
