Two Arrested with Gun Before Committing Crime

NJP Police arrested two men with a modern pistol before they could commit a crime. The arrest took place on Friday afternoon near the Fulbari Kathal Basti cremation ground.

The two arrested are MD Faizal Ali from Lakhisthan in Rajganj and Altaf Ali from Thakurganj. Police found a 7.65 automatic pistol, three bullets, a Rambo knife, and two mobile phones with them. Their scooter was also seized.

Police say Altaf Ali had recently rented a house in Fulbari’s Jorpakhri area. It is suspected they were planning a crime in Fulbari. Both men will be presented in Jalpaiguri court, and police have asked for a seven-day remand to investigate further.
