Two arrested with firearm

Police arrested two youths and seized firearm from their possession at Fulbari canal road on Thursday night. The duo accused have been produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday. 

The police have identified the accused as Akash Dey (22) and Sher Ali (20) both resident of Dalkhola area of   North  Dinajpur district. However , Akash was temporarily  residing at a rented house in Pradhan Nagara for past few months. 

According to the police sources,  a car with l was parked at Fulbari Canal Road on  Thursday night. On suspicion, the patrolling team of Fulbari traffic guards searched the vehicle and recovered the firearm from the seat cover. The duo accused were handed over to Ambari police along with the seized firearm and vehicle. 

" Two persons have been arrested with firearm yesterday. The duo accused have been booked under arms act and have been produce before the Jalpaiguri court today. Investigations have been initiated to find out from where they have procured the firearm and their motive behind ", said a police officer. (EoM)
