US citizen held with satellite phone at Bagdogra airport

A 45- year-old American National was arrested by the CISF for allegedly keeping satellite phone without any  authorisation at Bagdogra airport on Friday. The accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday. 

The police have identified the accused  as Thomas Isro Sage (45). 

According to police sources, three American citizens came  from Sikkim to  Bagdogra airport to catch a flight to Delhi. However, during the CISF baggage checking at the airport, a satellite phone was  recovered  of Iridium company ,  Chinese company  from Sage's possession . The trio  were later  handed  to the police by the CISF when they could not produce  any valid documents for carrying a satellite phone.  The police have started   their investigation  based on the CISF's  complaint and arrested one person
