BSF APPREHENDS TWO INDIAN SMUGGLER ALONGWITH CONTRABAND IN DAKHIN DINAJPUR DISTRICT
On 09th June’ 2025 at about 2130 hrs, acting on tip off, alert troops under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier apprehended 02 Indian smuggler at village Thakurpura, namely, Rana Das, S/o Late Niranjan Das, R/o Vill-Kharun, PO-Fatehpur, PS-Hili, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) and Arjun Mahto, S/o Upendar Mahato, R/o Vill–Kharun, PO-Fatehpur, PS-Hili, Distt-Dakshin Dinajpur (West Bengal) along with 120 bottles of codeine base Wincrex syrup and E-Riksha (Toto) worth Rs 1,58,760/- while they were trying to smuggle these syrup to Bangladesh. Further, they were handed over to PS- Patiram, Uttar Dinajpur district for further investigations.
Beside above, in the past fortnightly, BSF North Bengal frontier seized 42 cattle, 9734 bottles codeine based syrup and other contraband items from various spots under the responsibility area of North Bengal Frontier. The seizure value of above seized items is worth Rs. 38,38,192/-.
BSF is committed to stop smuggling on the India-Bangladesh International border.
