BSF Seizes Contraband and Arrests Two Individuals at Indo-Bangladesh Border**

On 1 August 2024, the Border Security Force (BSF) arrested two Indian nationals and seized illegal items at the Indo-Bangladesh border.
1. **Hili-II Border Post:**
- At about 3:00 PM, BSF troops caught Sirajul Rahaman (44) from Haripokhar village with 315 Yaba tablets hidden in a broom and spice pouches. The tablets are worth Rs. 1,57,500. He also had a mobile phone. Rahaman was handed over to Hili Police Station.
2. **Koshi Border Post:**
- Around 11:30 AM, BSF officers detained Md Ismail Rahman (38) from Kharkhariya village. He was carrying five old mobile phones, valued at Rs. 49,000, in his belt. The phones were seized, and Rahman was handed over to Mekhliganj Police Station.
3. **Andhigach Border Post:**
- At about 11:00 PM, BSF found 780 bottles of Phensedyl, worth Rs. 1,60,274, hidden in bundles near Bhagshree village. The smugglers had fled, leaving the items behind. Two mobile phones were also recovered from the area.
In additional operations from 1-2 August 2024, BSF seized 4 cattle, 859 bottles of Phensedyl, and other smuggled goods, totaling Rs. 5,04,611 in value.
The BSF, led by Shri Soorya Kant Sharma, Inspector General of North Bengal Frontier, remains vigilant to prevent smuggling and other illegal activities at the border.
