Child's Death Sparks Medical Negligence Allegations at Siliguri Hospital
The unfortunate death of a seven-year-old boy, Hamid Raja, has led to serious accusations of medical negligence at Siliguri District Hospital, sparking concerns about the hospital’s patient care standards and accountability.
According to reports, Hamid, a resident of Matigara, was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday with symptoms like fever, cold, cough, and throat pain. While he initially showed signs of improvement, his condition worsened unexpectedly. The family claims that despite his worsening health, the hospital discharged him prematurely.
Family members allege that even after repeated requests, the doctor on duty didn’t properly examine Hamid and left without providing the necessary care. They also claim that, instead of addressing their concerns, the doctor suggested they take Hamid to the outpatient department and insulted them, further adding to their distress.
