Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma Distributes Puja Essentials Ahead of Chhath Festival.
The grand festival of Chhath Puja started on Tuesday with the “Nahaye-Khaye” ritual, marking the beginning of the four-day celebration. In preparation for the event, Ranjan Sil Sharma, councillor of Ward No. 36 in the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, took the initiative to distribute essential puja materials and clothes to devotees.
On Tuesday, nearly 80 worshippers received these items. Councillor Sharma mentioned that the number of people observing Chhath Puja this year is much higher than in past years. He further explained that they plan to provide these supplies to around 400-500 worshippers.
Cultural programs will also be held at the Chhath Ghat throughout the night, and ‘Khichdi’ will be served to all the devotees as part of the event.
