Dr. Kaushik Bhattacharya from Siliguri has been honored with the title of International Surgical Ambassador by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. This recognition, given to someone from North Bengal for the first time, highlights Dr. Bhattacharya’s significant contributions to the field of surgery.

As an Associate Professor at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj, Bihar, Dr. Bhattacharya has over 200 research publications and has served on various editorial boards. His previous service with the Border Security Force earned him the Director General Border Security Force Commendation Roll three times.

Medical leaders including Dr. Probol Neogi, President of the Association of Surgeons of India, and Dr. RV Ashokan, President of the Indian Medical Association, have congratulated Dr. Bhattacharya. Dr. Ichchhit Jaiswal, Registrar of Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, also praised his achievement.

In his new role, Dr. Bhattacharya will be a key liaison for Indian medical students seeking training in the UK and plans to bring the UK’s Fellowship examination to North Bengal soon.
