India vs New Zealand 1st Test, Day 2:
Bengaluru, October 17 – Yesterday, Day 2 of the first Test between India and New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, saw a dramatic turn of events as New Zealand took control of the match. India, after electing to bat, faced a historic collapse, getting bowled out for just 46 runs. Matt Henry's devastating five-wicket haul and William O’Rourke's four wickets led the destruction.
In response, New Zealand steadily built their innings, with opener Devon Conway leading the charge with a composed 91. Despite India’s bowlers attempting to fight back, New Zealand finished the day at 180/3, securing a 134-run lead. Rachin Ravindra (22*) and Daryl Mitchell (14*) remained unbeaten at stumps, putting the Kiwis in a strong position.
India’s spinners, including Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav, each picked up a wicket, but the damage had already been done. India will need to regroup quickly to have any chance of getting back into the game today.
