IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs

Kolkata, April 21 – Gujarat Titans continued their strong performance in IPL 2025 with a 39-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. This was Gujarat’s sixth win of the season. Kolkata lost their second match in a row and their third at home.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans scored 198 for 3 in 20 overs. Captain Shubman Gill played a great innings, scoring 90 runs from 55 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Sai Sudharsan also batted well, making 52 runs. The two openers added 114 runs for the first wicket.

Kolkata’s bowlers tried to slow the scoring but could not stop Gill and Sudharsan. Jos Buttler added 41 runs later in the innings.

Kolkata Knight Riders started their chase badly. They lost wickets early and could not keep up with the run rate. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 50 runs, but the team finished with only 159 for 8 in 20 overs.

Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each for Gujarat. The bowlers and fielders kept the pressure on Kolkata throughout the match.

Shubman Gill was named Player of the Match.
