IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 Wickets, CSK Almost Out of Playoff Race

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are close to being knocked out of IPL 2025 after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 5 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Batting first, CSK were bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs. Dewald Brevis scored 42 off 25 balls and Ayush Mhatre added 30 from 18. Harshal Patel starred with the ball for SRH, taking 4 wickets.

In the chase, SRH struggled at times, but a steady 49-run unbeaten stand between Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Reddy helped them win with 8 balls to spare. Ishan Kishan scored 44, while Noor Ahmad and Ravindra Jadeja took key wickets for CSK.

With this loss, CSK have now lost 7 out of 9 games and sit at the bottom of the points table. Their chances of making the playoffs are almost over.
