Safari park to start lion safari in 2023

Bengal safari: North Bengal Wild Animal Park is set to start lion safari  in  2023 after it gets approval from the Central Zoo Authority ( CZA). The proposal has been approved by the Chief Wildlife Warden we are waiting for the approval from the center, said the park authorities. Meanwhile , the park authorities maintained that the footfall has crossed more than double compared to last year in just ten months. 

Director of the park Dawa Sangmu Sherpa said the proposal for lion safari has been approved by the state and they are waiting for a bid from the center government.


“The lion safari proposal has been approved by CWLW we are waiting for the final approval from CZA after that we will be able to start lion safari as well. Through an exchange programme we will get the lions in the park “,said Sherpa. 

Sherpa further said that the footfall of the Park has increased exponentially as compared to last years.

“This is just the beginning of the holiday season and in just 10 months our revenue has reached Rs 3,54,20,530 with a visitor footfall being  2,21,557. The face lift of the Park is completed. Veterinary hospital has been renovated , part of concrete walls have been removed and installed with glass wall to facilitate more sun light for quarantine animals. NIC building and Toy train station renovation has also been completed .The facelift of the Park is completed. Insertion of new attractions like adventure activities, bonsai garden, upgradation of children play area are also open for the visitors”said Sherpa.
