Sukna united defeated Sikkim police by 3-2 Quarterfinal matches to start from tomorrow

Today in  a gripping  pre quarter final match at the 17th Sukna Gold Cup organized by Sukna Games and Sports Association with the support of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (GTA),  Sukna United Football Club secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Sikkim Police, earning a spot in the quarterfinals. Aryan Chhetri and Sumit Soren scored for Sukna United, while Bir Bahadur Pradhan and Pema Bhutia netted goals for Sikkim Police, resulting in a 2-2 tie at the end of regular time. The game went into extra time, where Rohan's decisive goal tilted the victory in favor of Sukna United.

The match also saw a moment of tension when Nima Sherpa of Sikkim Police received a red card in the first half. Despite playing with ten players, Sikkim Police displayed commendable determination, but Sukna United ultimately secured the win. Defender Amar Oraon, who played a important role in Sukna United's defensive strategy, was rightfully awarded the player of the match. As the tournament unfolds, tomorrow's  first quarterfinal clash is between UKFC Kurseong and NMSC Shillong which promises to deliver more thrilling moments for football enthusiasts
